Color Codex

The ColorCodex™ referencing system is easy to use and intuitive for comparing and referencing color(s) in faceted gem­stones. ColorCodex™ was developed by gemologists as a tool to establish the color of a gemstone in a manner that is both accurate and repeatable. In order to qualify colors in a way that is understood universally, the ColorCodex™ referencing system uses numeric values. The system consists of 13 color sheets with 40 windows, each with a reflective and patterned foil intended to mimic the appearance of faceted gemstones.
